Apple’s product manager Phil Schiller was the one who appeared on the scene most when the new #the Macbook Pro was announced last week. In an interview with the newspaper The Independent comments now also, Along with the mixed reactions from customers, and to respond to some of the criticism.
Schiller says that the #Apple continues to be as passionate about the Mac as ever, and he invites customers to try the new Macbook Pro in an Apple store. He also says that despite the criticisms, so has Apple’s online store received more orders for the new computer than of any previous generation Macbook Pro.
Phil Schiller also says that he was surprised by the loud critical voices that were heard after the Apple event. Schiller says:
– Honestly, it was a little surprising to me. But perhaps it would not have been. I have never seen a great new Apple product that is not met with some early criticism and discussion – and it is ok. We took some real risks, and, of course, means every step forward also some changes to deal with. Our customers are so engaged, and it is amazing.
We care about what they love and what they are concerned about. And it is our job to help people through these changes. We know that we have taken good decisions around how we have built the new Macbook Pro and the result is the best laptop made, even if it might not be right for all from day one. It is quiet, a few people felt that way about the first version of the Imac, and it went pretty well, as it turned out.
IOS and Mac OS should be kept separate
Phil Schiller also get a question about the trend to merge tablets and laptops to hybridenheter. Despite the new feature, Touch Bar, he says that Mac and IOS are and will remain two completely different products. Schiller says:
– Here is an example of how they should be kept apart: the Mac has already from the beginning had a menu bar locked to the top of the screen. It is fundamental to its identity and the experience you get. But IOS does not have a menu bar. It will never have it. Just thought to point it in a menu at the top of an Iphone screen feels wrong.
If you built a Mac with a touch-sensitive screen you would need to figure out how it could be made a good experience with your finger on the screen. Trust me, we took a look at it – it is a bad experience. It is not so good, so intuitive, that it is with a mouse or a trackpad.
Schiller also comments on some specific decision taken with the new Macbook Pro. For example, he answers the question of why hörlursporten retained, when the SD card reader disappeared. According to Schiller, is the SD card reader is an awkward connection, because the memory card protrudes from the computer when it is used. There is also a competition among camera manufacturers about SD cards or Compact Flash cards to be used, so already in the past could Apple do not make all the users satisfied. More cameras are beginning to use wireless technology to transfer images, and according to Schiller, is the best way to use such a solution or use an adapter.
“here are machines for professional use”
concerning if it is not strange that hörlursporten is left on the Macbook Pro when deleted on the Iphone 7 says Schiller:
– Not at all. This are machines for professional use. If it was just headphones it would not need to be there, we think that wireless is a great solution for headphones. But many users have equipment with studio monitors, amplifiers and other professional audio equipment which does not have any wireless options, and need a 3.5 millimeterskontakt.
