Android superior to Apple in India – Swedish Dagbladet

Total estimated 31 million phones shipped to India during the period. Completely dominant in the market, Google’s Android operating system, with a market share of 97 percent.

It says Strategy Analytics in a report, writes Business Wire.

The Indian mobile market is the world’s third largest, after China and the US, but is growing rapidly due to rising incomes and cheaper phones.

and Android is growing faster than Apple. A year ago, the Android 90 percent of the market, and thus has grown by 7 percentage points since. Apple declined while 2.4 per cent from the previous 4.5 percent.

“Android looks unbeatable right now, because of its deep portfolio of phones, broad distribution channels, and the large range of lågkostnadsapplikationer” says Neil Mawston, president of Strategy Analytics.

“Apple must reduce the price of the iPhone, attracting more operator offerings and increase their presence online or through Apple stores if the company wants to get back on the Indian market in the future,” continues the analysts.
