Soon, opens damaged bridge again – New Technology

The Swedish Transport Administration has a new prediction for when Sodertalje bridge can reopen. Next week is expected the repairs to be completed.

collision on Midsummer Eve caused major damage to the bridge. A diagonal beam truss and two beams on the underside of farbanan became deformed.

The repair work was delayed addition of faulty welds on the beam, which would strengthen the printed diagonal beam. Therefore produced a new member.

On Monday mounted finally the new bar in place.

– As it looks now, we can open the damaged highway bridge in Södertälje for traffic next week. We have a number of critical steps remain, including checks and tests. In addition, we open the sample all four

bridges in the area. When we made it so we know if everything works as it should, and then we know exactly when the bridge opens, says Stefan Lindgren, Head of Transport Administration’s department for maintenance in Stockholm, in a press release.

The opening Test of the bridges will take place on Thursday and the night of Friday.
