In recent months there have been intense negotiations to merge the PC division of Toshiba, Fujitsu and Vaio, in order to meet the increasingly fierce competition.
now the Wall Street Journal reports that the Vaio has dropped out of the negotiations, which probably means that there will be no merger.
According to the latest statistics from Euromonitor, Toshiba has a market share of 4.1 percent, while Fujitsu and Vaio is 1.2 and 1.1 percent. Economically, it is Toshiba who has the worst situation, this after last year’s revelations about long-term fraud with the accounts.
