3D now Volumental has raised SEK 20 million, one of the largest seed investments in Sweden. It also starts a collaboration with Intel.
Several “proof of concept” project in ortotik and e-commerce are ongoing, including a project with Intel that uses 3D depth sensing laptops to individualize shoes. The project was unveiled at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco on 10 September and could be launched by the end of the year. Volumental envisions a future where all production is completely individualized and local, and plans to use the investment to continue to strengthen the team and launch its first products in the journey towards that vision.
