Volumental receive 20 million and will start cooperation with Intel – evertiq.se

3D now Volumental has raised SEK 20 million, one of the largest seed investments in Sweden. It also starts a collaboration with Intel.

Led by Silicon Valley investor FOUNDER.org and Stockholm-based MOOR may now Swedish Volumental money to the business. Volume Voice platform is based on two revolutions taking place right now: cameras with 3D feature that is becoming increasingly common in mobile devices, and the fact that 3D printers are becoming increasingly precise, affordable and accessible. Volume Voice software used to accurately scan the human body by means of simple 3D depth cameras.

Several “proof of concept” project in ortotik and e-commerce are ongoing, including a project with Intel that uses 3D depth sensing laptops to individualize shoes. The project was unveiled at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco on 10 September and could be launched by the end of the year. Volumental envisions a future where all production is completely individualized and local, and plans to use the investment to continue to strengthen the team and launch its first products in the journey towards that vision.
