SoundCloud has been called a Youtube for music, attracting huge amounts of visitors with its music library. The service has especially distinguished itself by offering anyone to upload music files. It has made it popular for remixes, full DJ set and unestablished artists’ works.

SoundCloud has previously made money by charging from uploading large amounts of music and advertising. It is unclear exactly what will be included in the subscription service, but a possible variant is that it pays avoid advertising, which is reminiscent of Spotify’s business model.
Apple Music , which was launched recently , is also based on the monthly payment. But unlike Spotify is no free version in addition to three free trial months.
It is well known that the record companies put increasing pressure on music services to generate revenue. Spotify has been met with skepticism because the company offers a free, ad-supported subscriptions, not least in connection with the launch in the US.
SoundCloud was founded of the Swedes Eric Wahlforss and Alexander Ljung, but moved early headquarters to Berlin. The company has been valued at approximately 700 million dollars.
The last year has Soundcloud signed agreements with a number of record labels, as well as the international giant Warner Music and partly an agent who represents 20,000 independent labels.
