The entire 30,000 patient records from maternity and obstetric care in the Västra Götaland is in operation following a computer theft in the region’s IT department.
The material was stored on three computers that were stolen during a burglary of the office premises in Mölndal at the weekend along with another ten computers.
In anticipation of filing of stored records from the years 1995-2005, on the computers that are now gone.
They were kept open an office landscape, completely contrary to current practice, writes the Västra Götaland region in a press release.
