Research: Sleep better – with pets in bed – Göteborgs-Posten

It is time that in good conscience let your pet sleep in your bed, say researchers.

Researchers studied 150 people and reviewed their sleep habits and their pets and concluded that the majority of those who share a bed with her cat or dog sleep safer and better, writes the Daily Mail.

There is a Clinic in Arizona in the United States who specialize in sleep behind the research.

“Many pet owners consider pets as family members they want to involve in so many aspects of their lives as possible,” explained the researchers in the study and reports that 56 percent of participants reported that they shared a bed or bedroom with their furry friends.

It turned out that 41 percent of respondents sleep better with his furry companion at his side.

“A married woman described her two small dogs ‘bed warmers’ and described the feeling when her cat sleeping on her breasts as ‘reassuring’,” the researchers write.

But the state while the woman seems to be the exception; The more pets, the worse sleep.

“As more households acquire more than a pet increases the difficulty of achieving an appropriate sleeping arrangements,” states the study.

And here comes further a disclaimer. When the clinic conducted a similar study in 2013 blamed every ten owners of their insomnia partly on their pets, and in the new The report was the figure had increased to 20 percent. In other words, reason to believe that the debate whether the dog or cat really belong in bed will continue.
