Lycksele Lycksele District Court has today set the seizure of the murdered journalist Elin Falk computer and mobile phone.
The prosecutor has previously during the investigation chosen to seize a laptop, mobile phone and a notebook that belonged to Elin Falk. The newspaper Folkbladet criticized the decision and believes that the seized objects may contain journalistic information that is protected source.
The district court admits that objects can contain source material protected. However, computer and mobile phone also contain information which is not protected and important to the investigation.
The seizure of the notepad other hand, will be lifted and the block is returned to Folkbladet.
Now the police search the seized objects in search of things that are not protected source. If the protected material is encountered, the investigation of this discontinued immediately. Folkbladet have been given the right to attend the examination.
