Forsmark Group has submitted an application to the SSM to permanently get driving reactor 2 at higher power levels.
The higher the level, 1120 MW (megawatts), in the earlier 1000 MW, have been tested at the reactor for two years. During that time, the operation has been completely trouble-free as Per-Göran Nilsson, director of the Forsmark 1 and 2, said in a press release.
The power increase is equivalent to the annual consumption of electricity for around 200,000 households, and the company has invested a billion in modernization and security measures to make the power increase is possible.
