Mobile surfing has higher speed than ever – here you surf fastest – IDG.se

Bredbandskollen helps people to see how speed looks for mobile surfing. The Internet Infrastructure Foundation has now compiled 11 million measurements. And the report shows that surfing speeds on average increased from just over 9 megabits per second to 15 between 2013 and 2014. This is an increase of nearly 60 percent.

The increase does not apply only metropolitan areas. But the speed for mobile surfing will look different depending on where in the country you are in and which company you have. The reason that the average speed increase is primarily the expansion of 4G network.

 - It is gratifying to see that operators are focusing on increasing speeds for mobile surfing – but there is still much left to do. We are becoming increasingly mobile and consumers expect, rightly, to be able to watch Netflix and listen on Spotify wherever they are located, we are not there yet, writes Broadband school Lens project manager Rickard Dahl Beach in a press release.
 
 Fastest go there in Stockholm, where the average speed in 2014 stood at 18.3 megabits per second. Toughest runs it in Jämtland, with 11.6 megabits per second. Which is still an improvement. From last year, the average speed increased by 276 percent, from 3.1 megabits per second.

 Clients of Three had the highest average speed over the past six years. However, the competitor Tele2 average higher speed in most counties.
