Test model of the iPad stolen – 99mac

A residential building in Cupertino have been victim of burglary, and among the stolen objects reported a ipad which may be a secret prototype for testing.

Two robbers have been at a burglary in a residential building in Cupertino come over cash, prescription medications and electronic equipment, including a “test model” of an iPad, reports the newspaper San Jose Mercury News.

The victim is a twenty year old man who had been assaulted and kidnapped after answering a personal ad online. Two suspects have been arrested for the crime – twenty year old woman and one twenty-five man.

According to the local authorities to the victim on April 5 have contacted the woman through an online personal ad, and then met the two suspects about two blocks from the victim’s house. After the meeting, they went all to the house, and when they arrived was the victim threatened with a knife and subjected to pepper spray.

The two perpetrators should then have taken items from the house, including an iPad, and placed in his own car. While the victim was forced into the car, and was released about a kilometer from the house. Only five days later reported the crime.

The information has been confirmed by the police office in Santa Clara County, which says that the victim himself reported a “test model of the iPad from Apple” among the stolen items. No details about the device, however, is known, for example, in the case of a prototype of a new model or an existing one used software testing.

After distinguishing features of the two perpetrators spread of authority these could be identified by the police in the city of Pleasanton, where they already were arrested for a similar offense. The police there had also seized a large number of phones and computers that they believe belong to other victims who did not want to come forward.

Two suspects are arrested.

The stolen iPad is still not found again, and according to private investigator Chuck Wall, it is not uncommon for companies to hire private companies to regain equipment. He says:

“A company that loses a valuable object will put all the resources they can to locate it, by hiring a private investigator or using its own security forces generally consist of former police officers. If there really is a prototype of some sort like the Apple of course keep it secret. “
