Sisters gave millions to research

The two sisters Anna Gerd and Inga Maja Larsson lived frugally, even though they had a sizable inheritance from his father. Now they have bequeathed 50 million kronor to the Swedish Society for Medical Research at the Karolinska Institute, writes New Wermlands-magazine online.
Father Emil Larsson ran the general store in Likenäs north of Torsby. When he sold the shop, he invested in shares of major Swedish companies. The legacy is also forestry and agricultural properties.
Inga-Maj died in September last year, 95 years old. Her four years younger sister had died six years earlier. Both were childless.
