Two years then put super entrepreneur Elon Musk forward his idea of fast train hyper loop. The vision is to be able to travel 57 mil stretch between Los Angeles and San Francisco on a good half hour.
Since then, many players hooked on the idea. The biggest of them is the Hyper Loop Technologies, a rapidly expanding company, which today has around 50 employees. Now the company has a new management, and is in the process of planning a test facility, reports The Verge.
New President of Hyper Loop is the former Cisco Chief Rob Lloyd. During its 21 years at the networking giant, he sat on a variety of top positions, before he left the company last summer.

Rob Lloyd’s first mission is to bring money to start testing fast trains in practice. Hyper Loop Technologies has had meetings with Elon Musk himself about their plan to build a campus with a three kilometer long test track outside Los Angeles.
In a new round of investment company wants to bring in a total of just over 650 million to finance the project. Already, they have received money from several successful investors including Shervin Pishevar who owns a big hack by Uber. If they managed to fill the wallet, the goal is a complete test track next year, or the latest at the beginning of 2017.
Unlike Elon Musks vision of rapid passenger travel is aiming Hyper Loop Technologies primarily on freight transport. But the same technology can of course be used for both models.

At the same time plans at least two other test facilities. The company with the confusing similar name Hyper Loop Transportation Technologies hopes to have a test track ready in 2019.
And although Elon Musk himself has said that he does not want to build anything high speed, he is planning to promote development. Last summer, announced his space company SpaceX them to build a plant in the “smaller scale” where researchers and students can test their own variants of hyper loop.
