And soon will enable companies to create custom sponsored snapchat filters – for a price of up to six million. It reports the Financial Times, citing informed anonymous sources.

Just in time for Halloween
The new ad format will according to the Financial Times launched for Halloween. And some of the first advertisers to jump on the train is said to be film companies. Imagine that you can choose a snapchat filter that transforms your face into Darth Vader or Ironman – as part of the launch campaign for a new movie release.
snapchat will design the new animated filters along with the advertisers. And the filters will then be available alongside Snapchats own filters.
Advertisers will pay as much as 750,000 dollars, about 6.3 million, to be seen during special days such as Halloween or Thanksgiving . Ordinary days the price drops to 450,000 dollars, according to Financial Times sources.

snapchat itself declined to comment on prices or advertisers, but a spokesperson for the company says to Finacial Times: “Sponsored filter allows Snapchattare to express themselves and interact with the brand in a truly creative and dynamic way.”
snapchat has previously tried to let companies create sponsored “stories”, content flows pictures and videos, on the service. But this model la snapchat down in the spring. Another attempt to monetize the service test is that users have to pay to watch friends’ videos, or pictures several times. By default you can only watch a snapchat twice when you received it.
