is the first time, Apples day is celebrated in Sweden. On 25 september, whichever is the first nationwide event day.
It is the national association of Swedish Garden behind the Swedish initiative to one day each year, put the apple in the centre. Inspiration comes from the Uk, where apple had their own day since 1960.
the Main objective of the day is to increase the interest and knowledge about Swedish apples and how the fruit trees are to be managed. It deals with everything from the varietal identification, harvesting, cooking and what apples mean to your health.
the Focus is also on the äppelträdets significance for the cultural landscape, and how local varieties can be preserved.
