Microsoft invests in start-ups and enters as a Gold sponsor of SUP46 – Mynewsdesk (press release)

To Microsoft enters as a Gold sponsor is a way of getting closer to innovative start ups for the exchange of knowledge. SUP46 is one of Stockholm’s leading startup cluster where new companies will have a creative environment and contacts that facilitate growth. Sara Kullgren leads Developer Experience and Evangelism at Microsoft AB and explains why it is important for Microsoft to be in the midst of these companies.

– Cooperation with SUP46 is an opportunity for us to learn from innovative companies and ourselves, we will contribute with our network of partners and customers. Our idea is to help Swedish companies to come out in larger markets faster, says Sara Hill Branch.

Microsoft contributes knowledge about software in everyday contacts on SUP46 and the program BizSparksom easier for new companies to get started in a good way. Here they can get up to 3 years of free software, support and Azure cloud services. Therese Thorstorp is the Microsoft holding in the partnership.

– I and my colleagues will ensure that companies here get a really good start, inter alia by ensuring that they can be developed in a technical environment that is scalable for rapid growth and expansion. I hope many of them will take advantage of the offer in BizSparkockså, says Therese Thorstorp.

The first day Microsoft held meetings with six different member companies and they all brought something from the meeting. Oceans run by brothers Daniel and Jimmy Reuterwall CTO and CEO, and they have a clear goal.

– Oceans will become the leading site for scuba divers worldwide. They dive maybe twice a year, but they go to the site almost every day to take part in other diver experiences and dream and plan the next dive, says Jimmy and Daniel fill in. – We have been in beta mode until two weeks ago and has just gone live. We know we have a hotspot in Brazil and now we found out that Windows Phone is great there, we got some new ideas.

On Maybe.se Simon Persson discovered that many people find it awkward to get to the point of meet in person with current conventional dating sites.

– We want to make it easier for people to dating and meeting new people. Maybe is an app that makes it easy to meet under more relaxed shapes and so we hope to create more fun dating experiences. Technically speaking, we use today by a number of tools in mobile engagement, both for the analysis of user data and event based push notifications, etc. As we grow quickly with large data sets, it is important to have systems that we can scale without it becoming exorbitant costs . Now we know that Microsoft solutions that can help us with that, says Simon Persson.

– It is very gratifying to meet the passion of these entrepreneurs, and see that we can have an exchange of one another. A meeting we had summarized the CEO of “now we got less spending and more ideas.” It really feels like a good start to the cooperation, says Therese Thorstorp.
