Organs directly from the printer took 33 place in Gothenburg – New Technology

       

Cellink build a 3D printer including print skin. The skin can be used for example as a substitute for animal testing. In the long run, the company aims to be able to print also more advanced organs and tissues that can be used for transplantation. From the beginning, the company developed only the “ink”, but soon realized that the commercial printers that were on the market did not measure up – or were too expensive. Instead took founder Erik Gatenholm and his colleagues have developed a home printer.

– The result was a 3D bioskrivare where cells are printed by the print head, much like a syringe and an ink with nano cellulose that causes cells to thrive. With technology survives around 95 percent of the cells a job, he says.

The company has sold some 30 printers to researchers around the world and operates as yet production itself.

For the resistance in Gothenburg was Captario developing a decision support for the pharmaceutical industry and Green Change to using a cloud service will streamline the production of renewable energy.

The jury had a tough job to decide who would go directly to the finals on april 12 at Munich brewery in Stockholm and both Captario and Green Byte still have the chance to get in on the final list.
