Windows 95 still lives! – As the operating system on the Nintendo 3DS – IDG.se

Windows 95 may has over 20 years of history, but yet it has its uses. Now a Gameboy enthusiast has managed to run the operating system on its New Nintendo 3DS.

It is perhaps not the most practical platform to work in Excel, but the hope is to emulate the old PC games on their brand new 3DS. Which in all likelihood would be easier on a lot of other devices, but who cares.

How does it look when shutterbug2000 successfully start Windows 95 on the 3DS.

Shutterbug2000 have run a version of DOS emulator DOSBox on their Nintendo 3DS, explains the user in a post on the board GBAtemp. While others, including Twitter user Retrorampage37, has managed to recreate the feat.

To succeed, run Windows 95 must use the latest version of the console – which practically named the New 3DS. Shutterbug writes that the hen has tried to use the original console, but it just ended up in the “constantly froze in a rainbow colored, choppy mess”.
