57 million for research – Radio Sweden

Two projects at Umeå University has received SEK 57 million from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.

One project deals with stress-resistant plants for the future of agriculture and forestry. It is headed by Stefan Björklund, professor at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics, and gets 39.7 million crowns.

The second project is about diabetes, about saving the insulin producing cells. The project is led by Helena Edlund, a professor at the Umeå Centre for moekylär medicine, and gets SEK 17.6 million.
