VW scandal: Check if your car is revoked – New Technology

New Technology has developed a service where you can easily find out if your car is affected by Volkswagen exhaust scandal. You just need to enter the registration number below to quickly determine whether the car has an EA 189 engine that is to be revoked or not.

According to Volkswagen, Sweden will total 224,746 vehicles recalled in the country. Of these, almost 140 000 of the mark Volkswagen passenger cars as well as vans. Volkswagen Sweden released yesterday a list of several hundred points by the models and vintages.

For the Audi brand will be close to 60 000 cars revoked and a list of affected models and vintages were also presented.

Similar listings for Skoda and Seat models are in the pipeline.

Ny Teknik’s service is based on data from AIS Nordic, a company that provides services related to registration, such as finding the right spare part for a car. On the company list is 238 000 Swedish-registered cars with the EA 189 engine. It is thus more than the 224,746 vehicles that Volkswagen so far told to withdraw.

– Our database also includes privately imported cars, and it is not certain that Volkswagen has yet caught up with them, says Per-Erik Norbäck AIS Nordic.

According to Volkswagen Sweden’s Marcus Communications Thomas People are privately imported cars with if they ever visited any of the company’s workshops for service or action. Otherwise, they are not part of Volkswagen’s system, even though they have the current engine.

recently in October, Volkswagen have developed and introduced the technical solutions to improve exhaust emissions. The recall will start only when these have been approved by the relevant authorities. In total there are about 224,746 cars in Sweden. Distributed on the Group’s brands, these are about 104,227 Volkswagen, Audi 57,367, 28,430, Skoda, SEAT 2162 and 32 560 Volkswagen vans.
