The police have no knowledge of IT crime – Vasterbotten Courier

The reports of cyber crimes is increasing rapidly, but the police and the prosecutor’s ability to investigate crimes shortcomings. Many investigations are amortized without investigation, according to a study by the National Audit Office has done.

The Agency find that more education is needed for IT-related to be processed better.

“It is important for confidence in the judiciary, the police and prosecutors are able to investigate these crimes in an effective way, “writes Auditor General Margareta Åberg in a press release.

The report argues that a greater degree of specialization in the investigations can contribute to improvements. More crimes could be cleared up with a different approach.

It often takes far too long before a police investigation begins and it leads to many digital evidence to dissipate, says the National Audit Office.
