Microsoft unveiled Windows 10 – Swedish Dagbladet

In advance, many who speculated what the new version of Windows would be named, most of which landed in the not very imaginative Windows 9th

Microsoft wanted to be different and the next version of Windows will be called Windows 10, as well as to indicate that it is not just about a new upgrade but a completely new Windows.

– Windows 10 will be our most comprehensive platform so far, explained Terry Myerson, operating manager at Microsoft during yesterday’s presentation.

That means in plain text that Windows 10 is not only the new operating system for computers, but also for mobile phones and tablets – for all between 4 and 80 inches, which Microsoft itself puts it.

The change means that there will be enough for developers to create an app that works on all platforms.

The actual launch is delayed, however. Microsoft has chosen to showcase an unusual early version of the new OS. A first test version will be posted tomorrow afternoon Swedish time, but the real launch will be delayed until late next year.

The reason is that Microsoft would be able to take the reactions of users, and have time to adjust the final version at their convenience.

The company has not told you anything about how much Windows 10 will cost, or in which different versions it will be launched.

One thing is clear – it was business customers that Microsoft primarily wanted to reach out to today’s presentation. It was almost exclusively focused on them man.

It is not surprising given that Windows 8 is not at all attracted corporate clients and large organizations to upgrade. According to a study from Forrester’s four out of five still on older versions such as Windows 7 and Windows Vista. The changes were simply too big. Therefore, it is no wonder that Windows boss Terry Myerson chose to hand start talking about corporate profits with the new version as well as the first item to lift up to Windows 10 is “familiar, compliant and productive.”

And indeed is a lot of the interface that was introduced with Windows 8 away. Instead, the company showed a traditional desktop, with the same start menu at the bottom left corner which has been the company’s hallmark since Windows 95th

Gone are also the strange solution to legacy applications and new applications could coexist in desktop mode.

Windows 10 also includes several new features for business users, for example, several new security and better control of user identities and the stored information as well as functions for easier deployment in large organizations.

Carolina Milanesi, telecoms analyst the KWP Comtech, wrote in a Twitter post to Microsoft during the presentation was very clear that the strategy is about “that no one should be left behind,” all types of users to feel attracted no matter what hardware they have. This corresponds quite well with Terry Myersons completion of yesterday’s presentation:

– We can build a product that our customers will love.
