One of the many news presented during the Google developer conference yesterday was the mobile wallet android Pay. Certainly there had whispered something about it before but yesterday confirmed then the rumors.

The service is called Google’s equivalent of the apple pay and will work in much the same way as the competitor. Meanwhile, a second chance for the less successful project Google Wallet writes several US media. With the service, customers will be able to shop in apps as well as in physical stores. It is also possible to pay for a purchase in one app.

To make the service more attractive collaborating Google with several major restaurant and retail chains in the United States Bloomingdale’s, McDonald’s and Subway. They are also working with several major credit card companies such as Visa and MasterCard, as well as mobile operators, so the customer can use the phone as payment tool directly when they left the store.

Before the customer can start using the app you put in their card number. But just like the apple pay converted it into a virtual account number. So the actual details of the credit card is not visible. One way to strengthen security.

The beta patch will follow with the next version of Android, known as Android M also unveiled at the conference. The digital wallet will also act earlier editions of the phone, anyway back to KitKat.

Android PAY first presented in March, but then as a way for developers to add a payment function in an app, not for payment in stores.
