What happened tool for converting apps from Android to Windows 10? – IDG.se

This spring promised Microsoft simple conversion tool for Android developers who wanted to work with Windows 10. But now it seems postponed indefinitely, reports Recode.

tool is the working title Project Astoria and Microsoft confirms Recode developments “do not go as planned.” The company would not say whether that means that the tool is delayed, shelved or completely scrapped.

 Windows 10 Mobile has a minimal market share and lack many of the competitors’ apps. Attracting developers is therefore central to Microsoft to be able to keep the ecosystem alive.

 

 Therefore presented four “bridges” in April. There are code words for the conversion program that will lead developer of the abyss of IOS, web applications, Win32 environments – and Android. The tools for iOS, and the Web is already clear, but Project Astoria seem to have gone up in smoke.

 
Windows Central has found further evidence that Astoria never happens. One explanation may be to Astoria based on a different technology than the other tools. It is a kind of emulator that lets you run Android applications on Windows 10 without developers having to do anything. It can create problems both copyright and technology.
