Many unnecessary calls to 112 – Swedish Dagbladet

The state has the desire to SOS Alarm’s staff to answer within eight seconds when someone rings the 112th

– In the current situation, we have about ten seconds in response time. One reason is the many calls made wrong, says Klarström.

And it is not about rogues. People calling 112 quite seriously and think they can get help with the most banal things.

– We got a call from an elderly lady who just got a smartphone. She called us to find out how it worked. You can not imagine the calls we receive. There are people who cut his finger and requires ambulance, or by those with the tires stolen the car, he said.

In the current situation, four out of ten calls false calls that should instead have gone to 1177, 113 13, 114 14 or not dialed at all.

On July 29, Gothenburg was shaken by a minor earthquake. Within a few minutes rang very many people to 112. Anders Klarström do not have the exact figures, but says that the delayed response time for all incoming calls.

– They should have called 113 instead of 13, it’s there to call when you feel anxiety but nothing life threatening. For example, if you feel sharp smell of smoke anywhere or notice of an earthquake.
