Bridge fault caused a stop in train – Aftonbladet

A Bridge fault in Töreboda led to the complete shutdown of the train service between Stockholm and Gothenburg.

Approximately 4,000 travelers in eleven trains were affected.

Just before 20 was the error corrected.

– It will become a part as a result of delays, says Johan Tjerneng on Trafikverket’s press office.

Brofelet discovered at 16:20 o’clock on Sunday.

– You can not close the bridge completely. So it is unfortunately stop for train services to and from Gothenburg, says Agneta Eklund.

The error led to major delays on the Western Main Line – according SJ was eleven trains and about 4,000 travelers who were affected. At 19:40 o’clock repairers had fixed the error, and ten minutes later trains began to run again.

– The most delayed trains is about three hours late. It will be followed late in the evening. It will be tågköer towards Stockholm Central and Gothenburg because they delayed trains must share space with regular departures, says Johan Tjerneng the Swedish Transport Administration.

Elcim Yilmaz stuck in Skövde, after having fallen by one of the affected trains.

– I have to go home to my children going to kindergarten in the morning, she says to Aftonbladet TV.

the train Elcim Yilmac sat on was en route from Gothenburg to Stockholm. She would arrive 18:35, but says that the mood on the train is fine.

– You’re used, not surprised, she says.

Elcim Yilmaz sought help on Facebook and appealed to people to set up and run towards Stockholm.

– I’m happy to pay, I have to go home, she said.
