Microsoft wants to save their browser: pay people to surf with the Edge – M3

A couple of years ago, Microsoft launched a program which rewarded people for using the company’s own search engine, Bing. Now it happens again, at least in the United States and India, where Microsoft just announced that it rolls off a new reward system for users who surf with Edge or use other Microsoft products. The new system replaces the previous Bing Rewards, reports PC World.

The concept remains the same. The more often you use or purchase Microsoft products, the more Microsoft Points are awarded. These can then be redeemed for gift cards to buy discounted Xbox games or other products from Microsoft flora.

Microsoft’s browser Edge replacing Internet Explorer when Windows 10 was born, but has struggled in strong headwinds since Start. Google Chrome has pulled away sharply, and that Microsoft now includes Edge in its reward program clearly shows that tired of the low numbers in the surf statistics. In the latest poll was Microsoft Edge at a 5 percent market share, compared with Chrome, which grabbed more than half of the shares.
