Armed robbers struck gold shop – Swedish Radio

In the midst of Christmas shopping killed two armed robbers to the jeweler in central Linköping. In the shop where several customers and a child. “None were physically injured during the robbery, but many are shocked,” said Thomas Agnevik, at the police.

– They have threatened staff with any gun related items. But in a situation so has the panic alarm in the store triggered and the was also a smoke alarm, so the whole store filled with smoke pretty fast, says Thomas Agnevik, spokesman for police in Östergötland.

The two masked robbers fled from the store on Main Street. And disappeared springandes north on Repslagaregatan.

Several customers were in the store during the robbery.

– There was a customer who had brought a child into the store when it happened. None were physically injured during the robbery, but of course, many experienced it This very dicey, says Thomas Agnevik, spokesman for the police.

A large number of people witnessed the robbery.

– Many saw what happened and when these masked people ran away so we have many good witness statements, says Agnevik.

A large number of police officers working to get hold of the suspected robbers. Police also searched for the men with dog patrols.

It is unclear at this time if the robbers came across something replacement. The police also keep on collecting video from surveillance cameras in the area.
