Test drive the longest freight train journey – New Technology

Container train started in Yiwu in eastern China 21 days ago and reached on Wednesday Spain’s capital Madrid. It had then traveled 13,000 km.

On its journey it has been necessary to either adjust the wheelbase on wagon axles or transship containers at Due to different track gauges in China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany, France and Spain. The locomotives were changed after pulling the train around 800 km away.

With the test ride was understood that transportation is just over a week faster than if the containers are transported by boat.

After the Christmas holidays, the train will roll back the same route, now laden with Spanish ham, wine and olive oil.
