The software which Volkswagen used to manipulate gas values in diesel engines originally developed by Audi.
It reports the German newspaper Handelsblatt, which obtained the data from within the company.
the engineers at Audi will have developed a software back in 1999 that made it possible to turn off some features of the engine, but it never came to use the manufacturer then.
but six years later, when Volkswagen engineers Wolfsburg did not get down emission values for nitrogen oxides in diesel exhaust were taken using the software developed by its subsidiary Audi.
Neither Audi or Volkswagen would like to comment on the data with reference to the studies done in the US by the law firm Jones Day. VW refers to Jones Day is to publish a report on the matter by the end of April.
