U2 sells fast after Apple coup – Metro

After the marketing coup last week when half a billion iTunes users got U2′s new album for free, sales of the band’s old records has greatly increased.

According to Rolling Stone, for example, the band’s singles collection “U218″ gone up on the top ten on iTunes in 46 countries. In the United States, five of the band’s CDs in the top 50 best-selling and the Swedish Itunes will find three U2 discs in the top 50, one live album and two versions of “U218″.

This weekend, however, it has been reported that all was not particularly happy when they found the “Songs of Innocence” in their computers or phones. Among other things, the disc compared with a computer virus and Odd Future rapper Tyler, the Creator went a step further – on Twitter, he called U2 frontman Bono for “fucking brillorm” and likened the album to wake up with herpes.
