Ecuador closed Assange’s internet” – Västerbottens-kuriren (the Courier)

Wikileaks accuses Ecuador of having closed down the internet connection of the organization’s founder Julian Assange, who lives on the country’s embassy in London.

the Measure shall, according to Wikileaks to have been a response to the publication of documents linked to the presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

"We can confirm that Ecuador has closed off Assange’s access on Saturday at 17, shortly after the publication of Clinton’s Goldman Sachs speech," writes Wikileaks on Twitter.

Assange has lived at Ecuador’s embassy for four years to avoid being arrested and extradited to Sweden where he is suspected of rape.

He and his supporters believe that the allegations are an attempt to then get Assange extradited from Sweden to the USA where he can be accused of publishing state secrets.
