Forecast: It’s launching Apple on Thursday – 99mac

On Thursday, it is once again time for the #Apple to hold court and launch new products. Most agree that this time it is the computer Mac that will be the evening’s main focus. In principle, every Mac model sold today would need an update, but it is not likely that Apple will update everything.

This sums up 99mac in regular order to the recent rumors, and gives his forecast of what we can expect from Apple on Thursday evening. The Iphone and Apple Watch has already been released in new versions during an event in september, so these products ignore, we ignore.

Macbook Pro

The computer which is probably most in demand, and that also most likely will get a proper update is the portable #Macbook Pro. The current design with Retina display that launched in June 2012 in a 15-tumsvariant. In October of that year came also a model with 13-inch display. The latest versions of the computer is released in march 2015 (13 inch) and may 2015 (15 inches). Thus, it is high time for a new Macbook Pro.

Rumors also makes the claim that the Macbook Pro is facing a massive update, where not only the performance will receive a great boost thanks to Intel’s Skylake processors and AMD’s new graphics core Polaris. The new Macbook Pro is also expected to get new connection ports with USB Type-C and support for Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1 Gen 2. It has also been rumored that this will be the first Mac computer with the fingerprint reader Touch ID integrated.

A big new feature is also reported to be a panel with a touch sensitive OLED display that will replace the current function keys. It would mean that the keys can view the information depending on the app, that the computer is currently using.

Overall, the reported Macbook Pro have a new design in a finer performance than today’s model. Part design must to remind about the Macbook that was released in 2015, including by means of similar hinges for the monitor and a wedge-shaped chassis. Interesting concept illustrations made by graphic designer Martin Hajek has circulated extensively both at 99mac and other sites.

Macbook / Macbook Air

Pro users usually prefer the Macbook Pro, but Apple’s best-seller is probably #the Macbook Air which offers a lower price and sufficient performance for the vast majority. The Macbook Air was launched in 2008, and was then a performance limited computer with only a USB port, and a relatively high price. Since then, however, the Macbook Air been updated several times and is today a very common sight among the students, and “ordinary users”.

Macbook Air updated last time in march 2015, and 13-tumsvarianten got 8 gigabytes of main memory standard in april earlier this year. It is considered the weakest component of the Macbook Air, however, is the monitor, which has not yet been updated to the Retina. Since the new #Macbook launched in 2015 with a 12 inch Retina display, the question has been whether Apple will retire the Air-name or if the series will get a proper update.

no matter what name Apple will according to the task of releasing a new, 13-tumsdator on Thursday. Our forecast is that the new computer will be called the Macbook, and be a larger model of the 12-tummaren – hopefully with at least two USB Type-C ports. However, it is likely that this computer gets Intel’s more powerful Skylake processors from the U-series, which would give the better performance compared with the 12-inch Macbook, but also require that the computer has a fan. Of course it is also possible that the name Macbook Air is allowed to live there, so that Apple’s product range in the years to come consists of the Macbook (12-inch), Macbook Air (13-inch) and Macbook Pro (13 and 15 inch).

with respect to the current Macbook Air, Apple will reportedly retire the smaller 11-tumsvarianten. Macbook Air 13 inch as it is sold today may very well be around for a while as a cheap instegsmodell.

the Imac and Mac Mini

Apple desktop computer #the Imac is one of the few models who actually received regular updates the last few years. In October 2015 got 5K-the variant with the 27-inch display to its latest update, while the smaller 4K version with the 21.5-inch display launched.

Imac 21.5-inch with 4K Retina display.

If Apple updates these models on Thursday it is likely to be no major changes which is to be expected, but faster processors and better graphics chips. According to the latest data from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, however, will the new Imac models didn’t show up until a bit into next year.

Apple’s other desktop konsumentdator #Mac Mini, however, has a long tradition of being ignored by Apple. The latest update in October 2014 gave the computer Haswell processors, Thunderbolt 2, faster wireless connectivity (802.11 ac) and flashbaserat storage space in some models. Then there had also been two years since the last update at the end of 2012. If Apple follows the pattern it can also be that time of year again, and the Mac Mini would be able to get a little love in the form of Skylake-processors, the USB Type-C (with support for Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1 Gen 2) and faster flash based storage. However, there are no specific rumors about the new Mac Mini models, so it is equally likely that Apple simply puts down the disadvantaged small computer.

Mac Pro and external monitor

During the conference WWDC in the summer of 2013 showed Apple up the new model of the #Mac Pro, with a remarkable cylinder design. The computer went on sale in december 2013, and then happened… nothing more. It means that Apple’s flaggskeppsdator now is almost three years old, and to say the least in need of an update.

What we can expect from a new Mac Pro is the same design, but updated with Intel’s latest generation Xeon processors and new graphics cards from AMD or Nvidia. The USB Type-C is also expected, with support for Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1 Gen 2. Unfortunately, there have been evil if substantial rumors regarding a new Mac Pro, according to Ming-Chi Kuo is delayed the pc to the next year. If that’s the case, it will most likely debut during the WWDC 2017.

another product that the long-rumored is a sequel to the external display #Thunderbolt Display with higher resolution. According to previous reports, is one such screen under development, and will get a 4K or 5K resolution and in addition an internal graphics card so that even a little bit easier Macs are to operate the screen without krokna. According to Kuo delay also monitor to the next year, and will be launched probably along with the Mac Pro.

Ipad

In september of 2015, presented #Ipad Pro with 12.9-inch display, and in march, a Pro version with 9.7-inch display. According to rumors, preparing to Apple the new models of #Ipad, but these are not to wait until the next year. Therefore, it seems likely that the Ipad will not be mentioned on Thursday, but pop up if Apple is holding an event in march 2017.

Airport

Something that, however, would be able to show up during Thursday’s event is the new versions of Apple’s wireless base stations #Time Capsule #Airport Extreme #Airport Express. Base stations also got an upgrade last time in June 2013, when both the Time Capsule and the Airport Extreme got a new design. The smaller the Airport Express has been the same since June 2012.

Apple’s base stations have invested in design and ease of use. In recent time, several competitors appeared on the market in order to take up the fight. Netgear Orbi, which was shown during the IFA trade show in years, learn to appeal to the same audience, and Google has unveiled its product Google wi-fi.

base Stations is hardly Apple’s most important product category, but as well as for many of the Mac computers it is noteworthy that several year old products continue to be sold at the same price. Rumors claim that Apple is working on a new hemmaprodukt with Siri built in, which would also be able to replace the Airport-the family. It will, however, almost certain not to be ready to appear up on Thursday. Therefore, the question is if Apple will show something new, Airport-related, let the products remain unchanged, or even put down #Airport.

On Thursday we’ll see! What do you think that Apple is going to show up, and what do you hope for exciting new products? Please tell us and discuss in kommentarstråden.
