Bildt supports Apple – Västerbotten Courier

Former Foreign Minister Carl Bildt (M) takes a stand for Apple in the legal battle between the US government and the technology giant, then the Justice Department moved to a federal court to force Apple to help FBI to hack the iPhone.

“the US government should not order the US company to make its products stronger,” wrote Bildt in an article in the Canadian newspaper the Globe and Mail.

Bildt, who is chairman of the organization, the Global Commission on Internet Governance (gÇig), especially also with two other of gÇig representatives warned that if the FBI gets its demands, it can have dramatic consequences for the US technology industry.

While the Republican presidential aspirant Donald Trump has raised its voice in the matter – he calls for a boycott of Apple.

a judge in California ordered earlier this week, technology giant to provide “reasonable technical assistance” to the FBI’s attempt to break into a cell phone that belonged Syid Farouk, who along with his wife shot dead 14 people in San Bernardino in California in December. But Apple has so far refused.

On Tuesday published Apple issued a statement from CEO Tim Cook, which he called the authorities’ demands a “dangerous precedent” that would threaten the security of all iPhone owners.
