“In five years, we are bigger than Apple and Samsung” – Business Week

Mobile manufacturer believes that Apple and Samsung have stronger brands – but they have much better products.

the Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has recently surpassed Samsung in its home market, but does not stop there. Now the company proclaims that it intends to be the world’s largest supplier of smartphones within five years. The company’s CEO Richard Yu said they lost market share to come directly from Apple and Samsung. This writes the Tech Node.

“Our competitors have strong brands, but we have much better products. Previously, we won market share from smaller players, but with time we will take market share from Apple and Samsung,” said Yu journalists in conjunction with the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona.

today, Huawei has managed to capture 7.3 percent of the market and to keep its promise to be the biggest skulel therefore the company may have to triple its market share.

One step in that direction is to take up the fight in the premium segment, something initiated with the launch of the Galaxy S. the new flagship phone offers a range of features that put it in direct competition against the iPhone sixth

Richard Yo also took this opportunity to pay tribute to Apple CEO Tim Cook for his refusal to disclose personal data information to the FBI. He however remained silent on Huawei’s official position on that point. Huawei has previously been blacklisted from selling telecom equipment in the US on charges of spying.
