Strategy and consulting firm Accenture via the Web questioned 28,000 people worldwide, including 1,000 in Sweden, about their views on gadgets that are connected to online. Of Swedes responded 6 percent said they plan to buy a smart watch in the coming year. It is in itself no small percentage, but it is just one percentage point more than last year, which does not indicate a dramatic increase is imminent.

What really makes the impact of bells, Activity bracelets and connected cameras awaited is the price. 60 percent think that stuff is too expensive. 41 percent think that data security is a big problem and 32 percent simply do not understand the value of the products.

“The industry eagerly await the next trend. Smartphones does not engage the consumer in the same way anymore, and many have predicted that Internet of Things would take over its role. But this looks sadly does not seem to be happening in the next year “, says Jonas Wedin at Accenture in a press release.
