So they got Microsoft to buy their startup Dagens Industri

Microsoft buys Linköpingsbolaget Donya Labs. Now tells his co-founder Koshi Hamedi about the feelings after the acquisition. "We are extremely pleased, it could not have been a better exit than this," he says.

On Tuesday night it became public: Microsoft buys the Swedish 3D company Donya Labs (NTL), based in Linköping, sweden, for an unknown sum. The company manufactures the software Simplygon, a 3D-software as used in, for example, computer games.

"I have not really landed in it this than, it became clear just a few days ago," says one founder, Koshi Hamedi, Di Digital.

"But we are terribly excited, it couldn’t have been a better exit than this," he continues.

Donya Labs was founded in 2006 and when the Di Digital interviewed the company in april last year, they counted to put 60 million during 2016.

"When we started the company we had a vision that 3D would become a crucial technology in the future. We thought, childishly perhaps, it would be like the Matrix in the future where it is barely possible to see the difference between games and reality," says Koshi Hamed.

That the 3D would not remain a niche product, it is that pushed them through the years, according to the Koshi Hamed.

recent years have also augmented reality (AR), that is to say, augmented reality, and virtual reality (VR) has begun to break through.

"a few years ago began our vision to fall together with the development in the world. I think we are just seeing the beginning of this."

six months ago, unfurled Microsoft released a new strategy where they want to make available 3D for all. One thing led to the other and a few days ago the deal was done.

there Has always been a goal to sell the company?

"We decided early on not to focus on it, because it does not work. Our focus has been on building a world class product," says Koshi Hamed.

"But, as an entrepreneur, you will sooner or later come to a crossroad: to try to build a large, global company or find the world’s best partner. We found the world’s best partner," he continues.

Koshi Hamed role as director of strategy at Microsoft and will be working to implement Microsoft’s 3-d strategy. Donya Labs activities will stay in Linköping.

"We are happy for Sweden’s and the region’s sake that it will be so. We’re almost a little surprised that Microsoft have handled this so well."
